THE FLIGHT VIDEO RECORDER (FVR)
Most people are familiar with the black boxes in all airplanes called the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR). They are the most critical parts of an airline when something goes wrong in a flight to understand what went wrong. This information is used to diagnose and pin point the root cause of the problem. It helps introduce needed fixes to corrects any flaws that exists in the technology or training needed to make flights safer in the future.
In the same line an additional device could provide such as the Flight Video Recorder (FVR) can be introduced into the planes exterior to monitor the surroundings of the airplane while in flight, takeoff and landing. Since the most critical problems occur during takeoff and landing, it will be critical to have the vide of what transpired around the aircraft to quickly come to a better understanding the reason of the events.
The video cameras attached to the exterior of the plane can capture various angles of the exterior and provide a feed to the pilots in the cockpit who can quickly gauge the situation in case of emergencies. This feed can be recorded in the FVR to be used later to determine the causes of the event. Such feed can also be transmitted wirelessly using the satellite internet technology to be save in the cloud and as a backup in case the 3 recorders cannot be located in the occurrence of an accident when the plan cannot be located or is completely destroyed.
