I have a 4 foot fence around my yard. Over the years due to a slope towards one side I notice a few trees like Crepe Myrtle and others have sprouted at the base line of the fence and grown to become quite tall and large like medium size trees.

My concern is that these trees might continue to grow larger and impact the fence or even uproot it. Is this a valid concern?

Is it a bad thing to allow trees to grow from the base of a fence?

How do I handle this situation? Should I cut down these trees to protect the fence?

Please advise in this matter. Thank you.
